The mission of the Beaufort International Film Festival is to enliven our community by fostering and developing a rich appreciation for art of filmmaking. The purpose of the festival is to recognize aspiring filmmakers of almost every genre to include independent film, music, animation, short and long features, documentaries, and screenwriting. It is also an opportunity to showcase the beautiful “film-friendly” region of Beaufort and the Carolina Sea Islands. For the past quarter of a century Beaufort has served as the backdrop for more than 20 major motion pictures, to include Forrest Gump, The Big Chill, The Prince of Tides, and many more. Through this festival we will reintroduce our sweeping marsh vistas, antebellum homes, and quiet charm of the old south to a new generation of filmmakers.

57th Thessaloniki International Film Festival  GREECE           November 3 to 13th 2016

Faithful to its established annual appointment, the 57th Thessaloniki International Film Festival will take place November 3 – 13, 2016. The Sulmona International Film Festival (SIFF) celebrates young cinema from all around the world with a selection of new works from emerging directors and passionate storytellers with unique visions.

The SIFF is the international evolution of the Sulmonacinema Film Festival that has reached its 34th edition. The 7th Greek Australian Short Film Festival is part of the Greek Film Festival Australia.
The Greek Australian Short Film Festival began in a Melbourne downtown bar in 2010. It was founded by writer, director and actor Ange Arabatzis and actor, Jim Koutsoukos. Their vision was to showcase up and coming filmmakers who were working in making short films, bringing awareness to the overall community of the work that these filmmakers were creating.

The Festival was established in 1978 whose purposes are to promote and disseminate the art of cinema, and especially of the short film, in Greece and abroad and to develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation between filmmakers from all over the world. It is held every year in September in the city of Drama, Greece and fosters the development of the short film medium.

Cyprus International Film Festival (CYIFF) takes place annually, under the umbrella of the Cultural International Festivals in cooperation with CINE@ART FESTIVALS network on the beautiful Mediterranean island of Cyprus. The festival was inaugurated on March 23, 2006 by the Cypriot Minister of Education and Culture Mr Pefkios Georgiades and is the brainchild of a group of dedicated producers, cinema experts, multimedia specialist and event organisers.

The Madrid International Film Festival is an international film event to celebrate the movie making whilst bringing together film makers and the business of film making, from the smallest independent film maker to the most popular English and foreign language films and is open to all film genres. The Official Selection serves to highlight the diversity of cinematic creation through its different sections, the two most important of which are the Competition and UN Certain Regard. 10th Los Angeles Greek Film Festival  USA           June 1 to 5th 2016

The Los Angeles Greek Film Festival (LAGFF) showcases new films from Greece and Cyprus, and includes works by international filmmakers of Greek descent. Since the Festival’s inception in 2007, the awards night has become an integral event serving to highlight filmmakers who are changing the way we think about film. Past festival participants include award-winning directors and filmmakers such as Alexander Payne, Penelope Spheeris, Phedon Papamichael, Olympia Dukakis; studio executives such as Jim Gianopulos (Fox Filmed Entertainment Chairman) and Kary Antholis (President, HBO Films) serve on LAGFF’s Advisory Board. River Film Festival  ITALY           May 28 to June 10th 2016

The 10th River Film Festival is an international festival of shorts held in Padova (Italy). The Festival is organized by the Associazione Culturale Researching Movies and is sponsored by the Comune di Padova Assessorato alla Cultura (Padua City Council – Cultural Office) and the University of Padua. The films will once again be shown on the screen on the raft moored in the middle of the 16th century fluvial port used for trade between Padua and Venice at the city gate of Porta Portello. Maryland International Film Festival  Hagerstown USA           April 1 to 3rd 2016

Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown was launched in 2009 and screens downtown in the middle of the arts and entertainment district. MIFF-H have been bringing in the finest films from around the world, providing a platform for independent filmmakers to engage audiences, collaborate with other filmmakers, and educate the community with the celebration of film. Hagerstown, Maryland was founded in 1762 by Jonathan Hager and quickly transformed into an avant-garde community. It is not only a beautiful and historical city, but it is truly the perfect location for the artistically inclined to celebrate their achievements, camaraderie and films.


Trenton Film Festival  USA           March 31 to April 3rd 2016

Unparalleled in diversity of subject matter, technique and filmmaker intention, this year’s Trenton Film Festival features 55 films from 16 countries ranging from narrative, animated and documentary features and shorts to music videos and experimental works. See films by accomplished directors and emerging talents from our local area to all regions of the US, Canada, Western and Eastern Europe, East and South Asia, and the Middle East. A great opportunity to explore a wide breadth of film, meet filmmakers and discover the Trenton film scene.


Fargo Film Festival  USA           March 15 to 19th 2016

The Fargo Film Festival is the premier annual moving picture event in the state of North Dakota. Featuring more than 100 movies every March, the five day festival takes place at the Historic Fargo Theatre, a beautiful, 870-seat art deco movie palace equipped with a Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ.

The Fargo Film Festival showcases work from all over the world and routinely programs movies that go on to receive distribution. In the past several years, the festival has hosted four Oscar-nominated filmmakers.

UN COURT TOURNABLE is a shorts films festival event that aims to be a place of discovery of new talents in the field of cinema. The screening will take place at the Théâtre Douze.


Geneva Film Festival  USA           March 10 to 12th 2016

The Geneva Film Festival is a grassroots event held annually to celebrate and showcase independent films from around the world. Films submitted hail from over 20 countries, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Brazil and India, just to name a few. Since its beginning in 2007, the Geneva Film Festival has grown in popularity and status in the independent film festival community. The Geneva Film Festival attracts professionals from all aspects of the film industry, as well as local arts groups, business professionals, and patrons from all across the Chicago area. An eclectic audience of film enthusiasts gathers for three days to recognize innovative craft and to share inspirational perspectives in the intimate setting of Geneva, Illinois, home to many artists.

Richmond International Film Festival  USA           March 3 to 6th 2016

The Richmond International Film Festival, Virginia, is a competitive festival that screens more than 120 international cutting edge films, making it one of the Mid-Atlantic’s largest international competitive festivals. RIFF brings the spirit of Hollywood to beautiful Richmond, at the Bowtie Criterion/Movieland and the historic Byrd Theatre. In 2011, USA Today called the 1,300-seat theatre, “One of the top 10 places to still see a movie in splendor in the United States.”

The 18th Magnolia Independent Film Festival or The Mag, a film festival based in Mississippi, was founded by Ron Tibbett in 1997. It was the first film festival to take place in Mississippi, USA.
